Bo Gao

Senior Software Engineer

Bo has 10 years of experience as a software engineer at a variety of companies including Lucent Technologies and Garmin International. Before joining Cogito, he also worked in computer graphics and computer vision. He is passionate about developing software, writing code in C++ and learning new technologies to create innovative products.

Cristina Gorrostieta

Data Analyst

Cristina is a data analyst at Cogito. She has a Ph.D. in Biostatistics from Brown University and a M.Sc in Statistics from CIMAT (Mexico). Her background work includes developing statistical tools to identify time series dependencies with applications to brain signals.  She is passionate about getting information from data and modeling to address practical problems.

Andrew Papia

Senior Software Engineer

With a rich background in telecommunications and digital signal processing, Andrew brings a depth of software development experience as an individual contributor, technical team lead, and manager.  He specializes in building scalable networked systems for computing complex signal processing loads.  Andrew boasts a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an MS in Computer Systems Engineering from Boston University.

John Kane

Post-doctoral intern

Combining an academic background of basic speech signal processing research with experience in speech technology application development, John brings to Cogito a wealth of expertise in sensing and understanding speech signals. His experience in conversational analysis and measuring of social signals like tone-of-voice, voice quality and timing, make him integral to the development of next generation vocal behavioral analytics at Cogito. John holds a masters and Ph.D. in signal processing and speech technology, and a bachelors in business and marketing.

Lance Reed

Sr. Systems Engineer

Despite being trained in anthropology / archaeology, Lance was drawn to fixing computers and systems, that eventually led to a modern day apprenticeship in Palo Alto, CA. This progressed into working at multiple tech startups and sizable organizations over the last 16 years as a Systems Engineer. Interests include building systems and growing organizations for fun and profit, and a passion for using metrics to debug and design better systems at scale.

Connie Choi

Data Analyst

Connie comes to Cogito from a background in economic consulting, where she provided data analysis, modeling, and research for securities litigation. She has also worked as a consultant for the technology industry, where she used strategic insights to direct product planning and innovation. Connie holds an AB in Economics with a minor in Psychology from Harvard.
