Role Description:

Cogito’s enterprise software solution leverages the power of artificial intelligence to radically transform the customer experience.

We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to help us capitalize on the tremendous interest in our solution, by designing and executing a creative outbound prospecting strategy. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone that has a passion for building relationships with enterprise executives. You will be responsible for developing best practices and will eventually play a critical role in building out the business development team. You will need to think outside the box in order to gain a deep understanding of our prospect’s needs, and how Cogito’s solution can help them achieve compelling business returns.

Responsibilities:

  • Prospect to senior executives in large enterprises through outbound channels including telephone, email and social media
  • Work closely with field marketers and account executives to develop targeted lists, call strategies, and messaging to drive opportunities for new business
  • Develop and maintain competitive knowledge on industries and products to facilitate educated conversations with executives
  • Qualify inbound leads resulting from demand generation programs, web inquiries, referrals and events
  • Facilitate high-level demonstrations of Cogito’s solution to prospects to illustrate key functionality and product value
  • Partner with the customer success team to expand Cogito’s presence within existing accounts
  • Design and document best practices and procedures to optimize the effectiveness of the business development process
  • Help build the business development team into a world-class demand generation organization

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years experience of phone based, outbound sales prospecting within a software company
  • Experience managing and mentoring phone based reps
  • Experience identifying and targeting key buyers and influencers within large complex organizations
  • Ability to articulate Cogito’s business value as it relates to a prospect’s unique business needs
  • Experience creating unique content to attract prospects via phone calls, emails or social media
  • Ability to reliably forecast sales activity and results
  • Demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding monthly sales and activity goals
  • Experience using CRM/Salesforce, and MS Office tools
  • Ability to occasionally travel
