It might have been a dreary day, but that did not stop crowds of people from showing up to one of Boston’s best tech events of the year. Just like in previous years, the 2019 Boston TechJam did not disappoint. Boston is known as a hub for tech startups, home to a diverse pool of talent and innovative thinkers. Now in its seventh year, TechJam gives the city and local community a unique opportunity to collaborate with each other, while celebrating our successes, showcasing our talent, and bringing together entrepreneurs and innovators shaping our future.

Cogito was honored to attend and exhibit, standing alongside companies like Humana, Fidelity, Capital One and Spotify, just to name a few. It was a great opportunity to mingle with some of our neighbors and discuss how we can help each other scale our innovative ideas that are changing the world. In addition to the engaging conversations that came out of the event, TechJam provided no shortage of fun activities, allowing us to engage with colleagues and break the ice with competitors, while enjoying food trucks and partaking in games.

This year was particularly special as one of our own Cogicians, Jesse James, played with his band, The Lights Out, showing everyone that tech guys can be rockstars too. They were in good company with the band Timeflies, known for their song Once in a While, headlining the event. At Cogito we encourage our employees to pursue their passions and hobbies outside of work, and we are extremely proud of Jesse and his band.

At the event we had some wonderful dialog at the booth, a few of the key topics discussed included emotional intelligence in the workplace, best office space in Boston and perks of joining a startup versus a more established company. We also had some fun, engaging and useful giveaways including bottle opener fidget spinners and Cogito branded tide pens. The custom snap chat filter we set-up for the event was a big hit, including more than 1,000 views.

Every year, no matter the weather, we enjoy the opportunity to celebrate our community for the tech powerhouse it is! We appreciate everyone who stopped by our booth to chat with us and we will see you again next year, where we can do it all over again.
